We need Fats to Balance Hormones
Lots of people are scared of fats, because they think fats, make you fat.
This is simply not true.
Overeating, low thyroid function, and excess sugar intake are a few things that can cause weight gain…
The gut, more specifically our gut microbiome, breaks down the nutrients from our food to make everything we need for our body to function.
This includes our Sex Hormones. They are called fat-soluble Hormones.
They are made from the fats that we eat! Cholesterol to be specific.
Which are made from Nutrition, from the Fats that we eat, and how effectively our gut breaks down those nutrients from our food depends on our resulting hormone levels and how our hormones function.
Interestingly, new research shows how the Gut Microbiome, our gut-friendly bacteria actually regulates Oestrogen in the body!
A new concept called the 'Estrobolome'.
So to keep our hormones happy we need fats in our diet and a healthy gut microbiome.
Below are some fats to consider eating as part of your balanced diet.
Eat seasonally and as local as you can to support the environment and our mother earth.
